Little Town on the Prairie (Williams)

In Little Town on the Prairie, the young town of De Smet has endured the harsh winter of 1880-1881. With the arrival of spring, the community comes alive with socials, parties, and “literaries.” Now fifteen, Laura attends her first evening social and spends her spare time sewing shirts to help send Mary to a college for the blind. Laura also earns her teaching certificate, allowing her to work at a school. And, most exciting of all, Almanzo Wilder asks to walk her home from church. Life in the little town is certainly becoming more exciting!
