Event and Program Support Staff
Job Description
The National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) in Abilene, Texas, is seeking an Event and Program Support staff member to join our team on an as-needed basis. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, interacting with the community, and supporting the museum's events and programs. Advance notice will be provided for all shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with the setup, hosting, and teardown/cleanup for events and facility rentals.

Act as an on-site host during events to ensure smooth operations and assist guests as needed.

Fill in for staff during regularly scheduled programming as a greeter or art assistant.

Maintain a clean and welcoming environment during events and programming.

Provide exceptional customer service to visitors and program participants.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the museum's events and programming.
Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Ability to perform light physical tasks, including lifting and moving furniture or supplies.

Passion for children's literature, art, and community engagement is a must.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the mission of the NCCIL while enjoying a very flexible schedule. Please note that this position may experience infrequent shift scheduling during slower seasons at the museum.
