Vote NOW- to bring art & artists to the NCCIL and in your classrooms!
A Community Thrives is a new approach to social impact programs that was developed through a collaboration across the entire USA TODAY NETWORK. While most initiatives designate funds or give support to great charities, Gannett is going to instead fund and support great ideas. The volunteering begins with you pitching your creative solutions to solving our communities’ most critical needs. Thank you Nellie Doneva, Photojournalist Abilene Reporter News, and Abilene Reporter News for nominating us!
A panel of judges will review the top 10 voted submissions in each category. The NCCIL is applying under the Arts Education category. In this race are 800 submissions from around the country. The panel will determine the top three applicants in each category to be then awarded grants of either $50,000 or $100,000 each. (Source: act.usatoday.com)
We are asking your support to help us bring children to the NCCIL for our school tour art and literacy education, and then return to the classroom with extension activities. In the past 20 years, the NCCIL has hosted 200,000+ elementary school children & donated over 10,000 books to school libraries and classrooms, while keeping its admission and programming FREE for all, all year round! These programs are the heart of the NCCIL. Your support enables us to carry out our mission to inspire and empower children to read, to be creative. The NCCIL actively promotes children’s literacy, both art and reading, in the Abilene community and beyond! We have lots more to achieve. VOTE NOW!!!
You can vote every day from now until May 12! Encourage family & friends, here & around the country to vote! Vote here.
