"Alison's Zinnia"
Based on Alison's Zinnia
Materials:
Watercolors, watercolor paper, brushes, water containers, paper towels, and permanent markers.
Instructions:
First draw the bouquet of flowers, that is displayed with a permanent marker. Paint the drawing with watercolors. Students can use this activity to paint flowers they know or flowers they are not familiar with. This is a great way to get students interested in sketching! Students and teachers can bring variety and different dimensions by changing the media used, abstract flowers or even planting some of their own!
For older students, or in a classroom setting, this lesson plan can be modified to add language arts connections.
